Oh No She Dinnit: Waiting For Godot? Guffman?

Mamacita says:  I gave my first round of mid-term exams today.  Although the students had three hours in which to complete the test, the last student was finished after an hour and a half.

One student did not show up.  I waited for him, but he never came.

I asked the regional director if I should wait for him longer, but she said that an hour and a half was long enough to wait, and that I should go home and relish my extra free time.

She’s right.  If someone hasn’t shown up after an hour and a half, he’s not going to show up.  And if he does, after all that time. . . well, we’ll get to take our show all the way to Broadway! he’s just too late, that’s all.

So, I took the advice of my director, who is far smarter than I, and went home, where I took a nap got a lot done that otherwise would not have been done.

And after I woke up then I made a sugarless apple pie and a little quilted Halloween bag for my daughter’s friend’s little girl.

There’s an inch of dust all over everything in the house and we have no more clean towels, but first things first, right? Pie and Halloween!

I don’t actually eat pie, but I love to make them.  Come on over; I’ll make one for you!

  1. Life’s too short to not make pie first. Or play. Or cave to a kitty’s commands for attention. Dust can wait (so can towels ’cause you can stand there and air dry…) and apparently I make it wait *a lot.*

If the guy who didn’t show up whines…heck, he could have shown up just 5 minutes late and not be allowed to take the test. You gave him more time to show than most would have. I hope he’s okay and didn’t show simply because he forgot/was lazy/was hungover…but yeah, that time was yours.
