Please do as I say. I said 'please' and it's supposed to be magic. Mom said.

Go here and read. This is one of the best, the very best, pieces of advice to parents that I’ve heard in a long, long, long, long time. It’s not about poop or vomit or diapers or playgroups or Baby Einstein or designer fashions for pre-school girls or Dora the Explorer or anything like that. No, it’s way more important than that. Yes, more important even than Big Bird or Barney. (Everything is more important than Barney, but don’t get me started. . . .)

I stole it shamelessly from Coach Brown (one of my favorite teacher-bloggers; go say ‘hi’ and thank him for the tip) who “nailed” it from The Education Wonks, and friends, The Education Wonks knows its stuff. It’s one of the best education blogs on the internet. I read it daily. And if you have kids and DON’T read it. . . shame on you well, you should.

I will have to agree with this philosophy 100%.

I know it is true. I know it first-hand. I’ve seen it. I’ve dealt with it. And I’ve dealt with the lack of it, unfortunately.

Go. Read. And pat yourselves on the back, because I have a feeling that the majority of parent bloggers are those parents who try to do things right.

Reading to your children would be one of those ‘right’ things. A big one.
