Sunday Songlist and Singalong

Mamacita says:  Hub is still in the hospital, although he hopes to come home tomorrow.  He loves to have visitors, if you’re in the area.  I’m getting ready to drive back up there in just a few minutes.

I’ve been working around the house today, while listening to music, naturally.  I love to set my music files on “random” and crank it up to ‘eleven.’  (Bonus points if you know THAT source!)

1.  Amazing Grace – Five Blind Boys of Alabama

2.  Autumn Leaves – Eva Cassidy

3.  Berceuse and Finale – Stravinsky (Tomita)

4.  Time Is Running Out – Muse

5.  Pontchartrain – Vienna Tang

6.  Never Will I Break – 3 Doors Down

7.  Luna – Alessandro Safina

8.  This Is Not A Love Song – Juliana Theory

9.  Wild Horses – Rolling Stones & Dave Matthews

10.  Suite for Solo Cello #1 – Bach (Jacqueline de Pre)

11.  Forever Young – Joan Baez

12.  This Love – Kim Richey

13.  Across the Universe – Rufus Wainwright

14.  One – U2 & Michael Stipe

15.  I Don’t Know How To Love Him – Yvonne Elliman

16.  Hover – Rhett Miller

17.  Simple Gifts – Judy Collins

18.  Rock Me Amadeus – Falco

19.  Northern Sky – Nick Drake

20.  Much Too Late For Goodbyes – Julian Lennon

And now I’m off to the hospital.  It’s only thirty miles away so it doesn’t take long to get there.

There are so many good things about listening to music while working; one of them is that it stays in your head for a long time afterwards.  Sometimes, I associate doing certain things with a particular song, because it was playing while I was doing it.  (Insert innuendo here)

I have never done well with silence.  With music in the background of my life, I’ve always found it easier to deal with things, and not JUST easier, and not just the ‘things.’  With music, it’s also easier to deal with ME.

“Easier” is the least of it.  With music, everything is also BETTER.

  1. You know that if I were closer there is no way you’d keep me away from that hospital to take care of you and Hubs. For now, I will pray and then pray some more.

Don’t forget to take care of yourself, Jane!

  3. I wish that I lived closer, because I would visit your Hub. I have NPR on right now, but plan to switch to music soon. Take care, and hugs to you all.
