Things I Haven't Done Yet

There are many things I haven’t done yet: some, because I have no desire to do them and never will; others, because I just haven’t got around to it yet.

Here is my first Monday: Things I Haven’t Done Yet post.

As of this moment in time, I have not yet:

1. Watched a single episode of Oprah.

2. Seen Titanic.

3. Been able to sit through an entire episode of Everybody in This Show Whines A Lot Everybody Loves Raymond without gagging.

4. Been to New York.

5. Ridden in public transportation that wasn’t in a theme park.

6. Used an ATM machine.

7. Tasted a Krispy Kreme doughnut.

8. Been to Europe.

9. Learned to be compassionate with willful ignorance.

10. Figured out why a school needs 10 assistant principals.

What have YOU not done yet?

  1. I’m with Belle on the ATM…can’t imagine having to show up at the bank only during the hours they choose to be open…or having to carry enough cash to get by when we’re away from home for four consecutive weeks. If you’re concerned about errors, I’ve experienced only one error in all my years of using ATMs, and when I called the bank the next morning, they were on top of it…no problem.

  3. I’m with you on 2, 3, 8, and 10. I’ve also never read A Tale of Two Cities or seen Apocalypse Now. I’m sure there are a whole lot of OTHER things I haven’t done, but I’d rather not embarrass myself too much just now.

  5. Well, you know:
    1. I have not visited Mamcita and her pastoral home.
    2. I have not jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.
    3. I have not saved up a million dollars and given it to charity.

  7. YET — is that the operative word? hmm… I haven’t run a marathon yet. and I haven’t been to Alaska yet. there must be more. On your list I’ve done 1-8. Number 10 would require a really, really, really big school, I think — too big, I think.

  9. All but the last one I have done. I have the answer for the for the assistant principal question. It takes all of them to manage the unruley teachers!! LOLOL Ok now seriously I have no clue. It seems like such a waste.
Regarding the ATM…I will teach you next time I’m there. Count on it.

  11. I’ve actually done all nine of the first one, finding that on rare occasions, willful ignorance may be just what is called for to allow for needed compassion. Never having been aware of a school with more than 2 or 3 assistant principals, I’ve never even thought about #10.

  13. Okay, your new blog won’t let me put my usual “The Daughter In Question” moniker in there. It doesn’t have enough room. That alone is a pretty good reason to go back to your old blog format. This one clearly sucks. Anyway, the real reason I responded is that I can’t imagine anyone as techie as you having never used an ATM. Where do you get money? The ATM is where the cash lives.
